Shenzhen Port is located in the southern part of the Pearl River Delta in Guangdong Province, on the east coast of Lingdingyang, where the Pearl River enters the sea, adjacent to Hong Kong. Shenzhen Port is a container hub port in South China identified by the state, and widely serves the Pearl River Delta region and other areas inside and outside the province. Up to now, Shenzhen Port has opened 221 international liner routes to more than 300 ports in more than 100 countries and regions, and the number of liner routes of the three major alliances calling at Shenzhen Port is more than 100, ranking first among the ports in the world.
Yantian Port is located in Dapeng Bay, Yantian District, Shenzhen, China. Since its opening, Yantian Port has experienced continuous growth in container throughput and has developed into the largest single port area in China in terms of container throughput, and is currently the single container terminal with the highest density of ocean-going container liners in mainland China. Yantian Port is a joint venture between Hutchison Whampoa (reorganized CK Hutchison Industries) and the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government. Yantian Port is divided into East, Central and West Harbors, with Central Harbor divided into Phases I-III and West Harbor divided into Phases I-II; East Harbor was reclaimed during 2016-17 but has not yet been constructed.
